Strength Training for Injury Prevention

By Brad | November 2, 2010

I often get asked for information and articles on strength training, and normally I leave that to the Strength & Conditioning experts. But I got to thinking….

While there’s plenty of information on the net about strength training to get bigger muscles, or to jump higher, or to run faster; there’s very little information about how to use strength training to prevent injury. So I thought…. Let’s do a series on Strength Training for Injury Prevention.

I’ve put together 6 articles on various strength training topics, like: cross training; interval training; circuit training; plyometrics, and more. Here’s the first 3 below….

I’ll have the next 3 ready for you in a week or two. Until then; stay healthy, keep stretching and God bless.

New & Improved Customer Support

By Brad | October 26, 2010

Brad Walker

As a business owner, customer service is one of my top priorities, and as The Stretching Institute continues to grow, it’s an area of the business that we have struggled to keep on top of.

The Stretching Institute website is now receiving nearly 4 million unique visitors a year. That’s over 10,000 visitors a day. And trying to reply to all the inquiries via email is getting harder and harder.

On top of all this, a small portion of the email we send isn’t being delivered. Typically, we will reply to an inquiry and a few days later the person will email us to say that they haven’t heard from us. To which we will reply again, only to get an abusive email a few days later saying that we are ignoring them.

To help manage all the inquiries, and provide the customer support that you deserve, we’ve set up a new help desk support system, where you’ll be able to search our online library for answers to common questions and you’ll also be able to Submit a Ticket to get the help or answer you need.

And the best thing is that it doesn’t rely on you receiving an email to get an answer. When you submit your inquiry you’ll get a ticket number that you can use to track the progress of your inquiry. You’ll still get an email from us to let you know when we’ve answered your inquiry, but even if you don’t get the email you can log in with your ticket number at any time to see the progress of your inquiry.

If you do have a question for us, or you need to get in contact with us, please…..

Stretching and Flexibility Defined

By Brad | October 19, 2010

Unfortunately, I still hear arguments and debates about stretching that cause a lot of confusion and a great deal of misconceptions.

And part of the confusion comes from the fact, that as an industry, the terms used in stretching and flexibility training have not been clearly defined.

So, this week’s article is more of a glossary of terms or a dictionary of common terms used in stretching and flexibility training. I hope you enjoy it….
